One horror that is making its way to the top of my must see list is the latest found footage flick from one half of the Blair Witch Project’s creators. Eduardo Sanchez, all set to unleash his highly praised Lovely Molly on the horror world, is about to start production on his next feature, Exists.
The found footage horror which see’s a group of youngsters get picked off one by one by a mysterious creature in the woods, begins production on Monday. We reported back in June last year that Brian Steele (Hellboy) had already been cast as Bigfoot, however ahead of production a new set of names have now also been added.
Dora Madison Burge, Samuel Davis, Roger Edwards, Chris Osborn and Denise Williamson now join the cast of Haxan Films and Amber Entertainments horror. The film is being shot on location just outside Austin, Texas at Spiderwood studios.
Producers are Robin Cowie, Jane Fleming, Andy Jenkins, and Mark Ordesky with Gregg Hale and Reed Frerichs exec producing.
Back in June, Sanchez had this to say:
“The film is the first in a trilogy exploring and reinventing the Bigfoot myth,” Sanchez said. “We all remember the terror of watching such classics as ‘The Legend of Boggy Creek,’ and I look forward to making Bigfoot scary again.“
With this and the other found footage horror, The Lost Tapes, both in production this year, could 2012 be the year of Bigfoot?
