HCF To Cover FANTASPOA 2012 Film Festival with Cell Count Director Todd E. Freeman

Fantaspoa is an annual film festival in Porto Alegre, Brazil and this year we are pleased to announce that HCF will be featuring an exclusive festival blog thanks to our good friend and director, Todd E. Freeman, who’s film Cell Count is closing the festival on 20th May 2012. Todd will also be on the jury panel for the Panorama Section of the fest.

This year will be the 8th year Fantaspoa has been staged and the films included in the Fantaspoa International Fantastic Film Festival lineup include Yam Laranas’ The Road, Richard Powell’s Familiar (which Doc reviewed here), Zack Parker’s Scalene, Derek Franson’s Comforting Skin and Paulo Biscaia Filho’s Nervo Craniano Zero, just to name a few.  Two great filmmakers will also be recognised for their contribution to cinema, Re-Animator‘s Stuart Gordon and Puppetmaster‘s David Schmoeller, who’s film Little Monsters will be having it’s world premiere at the festival. Both directors will be holding a Q+A at the festival too.

The Fantaspoa festival will be running from 4th May to 20th May 2012 with coverage starting on the 11th, so make sure you come and join HCF for Todd’s exclusive festival blog.

I love practical effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Yakuza Zero and Webbed.
