The Brazilians know how to put on a good festival and the Fantaspoa International Film Festival in Porto Allegre is no exception.
This is the Fantaspoa Film Festival’s 8th year. It is the first genre festival in Brazil as well as the biggest fantastic film festival in Latin America.
Above is the tasty artwork for the event and opening the festival will be quirky horror comedy NERVO CRANIANO ZERO, which tells the story of Bruna Bloch (Guenia Lemos), who after writing a best-seller is afraid of failing in her second book. So she hires the service of Dr. Bartholomeu Bava (Leandro Daniel Colombo), a neuro-surgeon who has invented a chip that once installed in a brain nerve allows for non-stop creativity. The problems start when Bruna decides to get a guinea-pig, Cristy Costa (Uyara Torrente), to test out the experiment.
We’re pleased to announce that Todd E. Freeman’s sci-fi horror CELL COUNT shall be closing the festival on 20th May 2012. Cell Count is the story of Russell Carpenter, who reluctantly admits his wife, Sadie, into an experimental treatment facility for her life threatening disease. While locked in this prison like surrounding they, along with six others, are unknowingly subjected to a cure that might just be worse than the disease itself
