Steven King recently joked with the Sunday Times that should he fail to finish a new book he is working on, for whatever reason, then his talented Son would easily be able to finish it for him!
King is currently working on a novel called Joyland, a slasher tale about an “amusement park serial killer” Here is what the writer had to say about what would happen should something happen to him, and he also gives his Son a ton of praise, bless.
“So if I got hit by a taxi cab, like Margaret Mitchell … ‘Joyland’ wouldn’t be done but Joe could finish it, in a breeze. His style is almost indistinguishable from mine. His ideas are better than mine. Being around Joe is like being next to a Catherine Wheel throwing off sparks, all these ideas. I do want to slow down. My agent is dickering with the publishers about ‘Dr. Sleep,’ that’s the sequel to ‘The Shining,’ but I held off showing them the manuscript because I wanted time to breathe.”
Aww, what a nice chap. So, that is two Stephen King books now on the way, Joyride and his sequel to The Shining, Dr Sleep. Not only that, there are a number of Stephen King adaptations in the works, including the remake of Carrie, (hopefully) The Dark Tower, Ben Affleck’s take on The Stand, Mark Pavia’s anthology called Stephen King’s The Reapers Image, as well as the TV series of his novel Under the Dome which will be created by Brian K. Vaughan.
