I do love my gangster films, especially one’s with a cast as good as this, and a setting of the 1940’s. So, the first trailer has landed for director Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad, and after all the build up and media frenzy from last year (mostly around star Ryan Gosling kitted out in 1940’s suits and battering someone with a tie iron) how does the trailer look?
Well, the director of Zombieland has done good, and from the looks of the trailer, The Gangster Squad is goona be an awesome throwback to the gangster movies of old. The setting, style and even dialogue appears to be brilliantly realised, but in all seriousness, even if the director didn’t get this part right, the cast is worth the ticket price alone!
Ryan Gosling heads up the cast, and joining him for the ride will be (deep breath!!), Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte, Giovanni Ribisi, Michael Pena, Mireille Enos, Robert Patrick, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Josh Pence, Derek Mears and Sullivan Stapleton. One mighty cast, one mighty film, and a superb trailer, check it out at the bottom of this post!
