New poster for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ shows off a more sinister side to Catwoman

There has been a real onslaught of posters, banners and images from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises this past week, and it has ended on a mysterious, and rather impressive high.

An eagle eyed fan of uncovered the latest poster by uncovering a QR code on one of the recent posters. The code takes you to the films official website where the new poster was found. At first glance it is clear something is up here, and after seeing the trailers and TV spots, I was under the impression that Selina Kyle/Catwoman, may not have been Batman’s best friend, but was almost certainly an ally. The playful banter in the latest TV spot where she organises her own way home and pretends to be Bruce Wayne’s wife was all the proof I needed that the pair were getting on. Pretty much everything we have so far seen does not point at Catwoman being an enemy at all, however this new poster suggests otherwise.

We can clearly see Catwoman’s boot standing on Batman’s symbol, but look closer for some rather cool stuff. Her ‘killer’ heel has a jagged edge to inflict damage, she has left two kisses and even a lipstick print of her lips. Look closer at the lips though, a Batman symbol can be seen in them. Does this mean anything or am I looking into it too deeply? One things for certain though, this poster does not suggest Catwoman is on Batman’s side, or at the very least she does not like him. Could Catwoman be another villain in the film, or will she simply be another person against Bane who wants the glory for herself? Maybe she has been running things while Batman has been in hiding? Maybe she joins Bane? July 20th we will have the answers.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
