Music video director Todd Levin has managed to create an ultra low budget 3D horror flick, costing less than $1 million, the first trailer has now arrived. Using a camera rig designed specifically to hold two Sony PMW-F3 cameras (Sony’s answer to the RED 3D camera) the director and producers were able to shoot the creepy looking tale in 3D on a low budget.
The film itself looks very intense and masterfully executed, with strong hints of The Strangers, Ils and even recent British horror F. I must say I am very impressed by this trailer, and Static 3D has become yet another of my ‘must-see’ movies.
Directed by Todd Levin, the film stars Sarah Shahi (The L Word), Sara Paxton (The Innkeepers) and Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes). Todd Levin also helped write the film, along with Gabriel Cowan, Andrew Orci and John Suits.
As a young novelist and his wife are coping with the loss of their child, their lives are turned upside down when a panicked girl appears at their home in the middle of the night with stories of masked intruders stalking her. That night the stalkers strike, sending the couple on an horrific game of cat and mouse, where they are forced to uncover shocking details from their past that may be the reason for the attack.
