Chris Hemsworth All Aboard To Star In IN THE HEART OF THE SEA

He’s starred in Thor, Marvel Avenger’s Assemble and Cabin in the Woods. To say Chris Hemsworth is hot property at the moment would be an understatement. For his next role, besides reprising Thor for the sequel and Red Dawn, he’s going to find his sea legs as he boards whaling ship the Essex in the adaptation of Nathaniel Philbrick’s book ‘In The Heart of the Sea’.

Set in 1820, the Essex is stalked and destroyed by a sperm whale leaving the 20 man crew stranded at sea for 90 days with nothing to eat except each other… Yes, you can see where this is going *om nom nom*. This true story was the inspiration for Herman Melville’s Moby Dick.

Although this project has had a turbulent past, with Hemsworth leading the film and Paula Weinstein and Joe Roth backing the project, I’m sure ‘In The Heart of the Sea’ will make it to shore.
