‘House’ Star Hugh Laurie In Talks For Role of ROBOCOP Villain

After playing sarcastic Dr Gregory House in 8 seasons of HOUSE, British export Hugh Laurie is in talks to play the villain in the remake of Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 sci-fi, RoboCop. If the remake follows the original story, then the villain will be the rich, sinister head of Omni Corp that reanimates the policeman into half-human, half-android RoboCop.

Laurie will join Samuel L. Jackson and Abbie Cornish who signed recently to the project along with Gary Oldman and Joel Kinnaman already cast some time ago.

Director Jose Padilha will be looking to refresh the 80’s classic in a remake that not many people have insisted on. Will it work? Only time will tell.

I love practical effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Yakuza Zero and Webbed.
