Portia Doubleday to Terrorise Chloe Moretz as Chris Hargensen in CARRIE Remake

Portia Doubleday (Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son) has been cast as cruel bully Chris Hargensen in Kimberly Peirce’s remake of CARRIE.

Chris, previously played by Nancy Allen, is the main antagonist in the film, bringing much pain and suffering, not to mention humiliation to poor Carrie.

Portia joins Gabriella Wilde (Three Musketeers, St Trinian’s 2, Dr Who) as Sue Snell and Judy Greer (The Descendents, Jeff Who Lives At Home) as Miss Collins, the sympathetic gym teacher. Troubled teenager Carrie will be played by Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore will star as Carrie’s religious psychotic mother.

The remake of Brian de Palma’s adaptation of the Stephen King novel starts filming at the end of June, with a release date of March 15 2013.

I love practical effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: Tembo: The Badass Elephant, Yakuza Zero and Payday 2.
