Here it is people, we told you yesterday it was coming, and here it is, the debut trailer for Dredd and it’s a good one! The visuals and use of slow motion is very impressive, the action appears spot on and Karl Urban looks perfect for the role of the non-smiley Dredd. There are some wonderful one-liner’s from Dredd, like “the sentence is death” or “negotiation’s over”. There a plenty of others which go to show that director Pete Travis is taking the 2000AD character some well needed dark places after the painfully poor 1995 version with poor old Sylvester Stallone.
Yes, it is fair to say I am impressed with this trailer, very impressed. It was a long time coming, but thankfully it was definitely worth the wait.
Pete Travis directs from a script written by Carlos Ezquerra and Alex Garland. Karl Urban will be playing Dredd, and he will be supported by Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey, Domhnall Gleeson, Santi Scinelli and Jason Cope.
Dredd arrives in UK cinemas 7th September.
