Check out ‘Robocop’ remakes Omnicorp viral campaign, including video and website: you have twenty seconds to comply!

MGM is all set to take director Jose Padilha’s Robocop remake to Comic-Con next week, and in the run up to the start of promotional activity, a new website and viral video has been launched. The website can be found at and while much of the content is still showing ‘access denied’, it should start unlocking over the coming weeks and months.

The video, however, can be watched both on the website, and also right here! It is just under a minute long, and features a number of machines in the Omnicorp list of gadgets, including a flying drone, a rather cool look at the new Ed-209′ and we even get the briefest of glimpses at Robocop himself! It is a rather cool video, clearly taking its influences from Paul Verhoeven’s classic adverts in his original version, and I think it is a nice touch.

Hopefully more will be unveiled at Comic-Con, but for now, with such a terrific cast already assembled and now this, Robocop is beginning to shape up nicely, like it or not.

The flick sees Joel Kinnaman (“The Killing”) as the title hero, a cop named Alex Murphy who is brought back from the brink of death and turned into a cyborg police officer. Gary Oldman has already been cast as his scientist-creator. Samuel L. Jackson will play Pat Novak, a charismatic media mogul and a powerful force in the RoboCop world. Hugh Laurie and Abbie Cornish are also rumoured to be appearing in the film directed by Jose Padilha.

Robocop is expected to arrive in UK cinemas 9th August 2013.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
