Director James Mangold’s The Wolverine is expected to go into production very soon, and things are beginning to hot up in more ways than one. At the beginning of the week a number of names were added to the cast, the majority of them hailing from Japan where most of the film will be set. However, in even bigger news there were rumblings mid-week that Jessica Biel had been offered the role of Viper on the new film.
Deadline has now reported that Biel has indeed accepted the role of Viper, meaning there is a new and very good reason to be excited about this new film. Viper is a force within Hydra, and her relationship with Wolverine is complicated, with even a marriage in there somewhere. Viper is at times a friend, at others an enemy and also the love interest of The Wolverine, so should prove rather interesting, and Bile should spice up the role nicely.
Biel will join Hugh Jackman and a number of new actors who were confirmed this week, including Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Rila Fukushima and Tao Okamoto.
The Wolverine is expected to arrive in UK cinemas 26th July 2013.
