If you watch the red band trailer for the awesome looking End of Watch, you would be forgiven for immediately thinking of similarities to Training Day or Street Kings. Director David Ayer is the man who wrote Training Day, and directed Street Kings, and here he ups the violence and grittiness in what looks like a terrific cop thriller.
The director has also chosen to use some hand held camera footage throughout the film, giving a realistic edge to what already looks like a very impressive, yet extremely violent film. Check out the brilliant red band trailer at the bottom of this post.
End of Watch, written and directed by David Ayer, stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Pena, Anna Kendrick, Cody Horn, Frank Grillo and America Ferrera. The film is due to arrive in UK cinemas 23rd November.
A powerful story of family, friendship, love, honor and courage, End Of Watch stars Academy Award(R) nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena as young Los Angeles police officers Taylor and Zavala as they patrol the city’s meanest streets of south central Los Angeles. Giving the story a gripping, first-person immediacy, the action unfolds through footage from the handheld HD cameras of the police officers, gang members, surveillance cameras, and citizens caught in the line of fire to create a riveting portrait of the city’s most dangerous corners, the cops who risk their lives there every day, and the price they and their families are forced to pay.
