‘Dredd 3D’: We have two featurettes, one about the character and one about the slo-mo drug, plus a brand new clip!

Oh man aren’t we being nice today! Included at the bottom of this post is a special featurette which goes into some detail about Dredd’s character. Not only that, but an in depth featurette explains all you need to know about the slo-mo drug used in the film, and how the effects wizards pulled off their visual trickery. Finally, as if all that wasn’t enough, a brand new clip has been released today which features Dredd announcing his arrival at the films centre point, and he declares that “I am the law”. Scary stuff!!!

Pete Travis directs from a script written by Carlos Ezquerra and Alex Garland. Karl Urban will be playing Dredd, and he will be supported by Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey, Domhnall Gleeson, Santi Scinelli and Jason Cope.

Dredd arrives in UK cinemas 7th September.

Synopsis:

Dredd takes place on a fictional Earth created as a result of the Atomic Wars. Survivors of this period are living in Mega-Cities, which protects its citizens from the Cursed Earth, a radioactive desert environment populated by mutants. The main story takes place in Mega-City One, where the police who are now called judges have the power to use police brutality to some extent to fight extreme murders. One man, Judge Dredd (Karl Urban), a senior law enforcement officer, teams up with a cadet called Judge Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) to track down a terrorist organization lead by Ma-Ma (Lena Headey), who is responsible for selling a reality-altering drug called Slo-Mo.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
