The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Sinister director Scott Derrickson must ‘Beware The Night’ for latest horror

Turns out the story that broke yesterday of what Scott Derrickson is directing next still needs clarification. However, I shall share it with you anyway as it sounds like it is actually happening, and if indeed this does turn out to be true, then we are in for a real treat.

Derrickson’s previous films have included such greats as The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Hellraiser Inferno, and I have no doubts that Sinister will be awesome. He is also onboard to direct Two Eyes Starring, a remake of Dutch thriller Zwart Water with Charlize Theron is the lead. I guess we can forgive him for The Day the Earth Stood Still.

According to The Wrap, Derrickson has signed on to direct paranormal police thriller Beware the Night, and is planning to rewrite the script. While Sony Screen Gems will be housing the film, it has been reported that both Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer are involved in some way. Mark Wahlberg was apparently offered the lead but turned it down.

The exciting sounding synopsis goes like this:

The story is set in a paranormal world and follows a New York police officer investigating real life demon possessions, exorcisms and werewolves after dark.

More on this as it develops.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
