Disney and Tim Burton celebrate October 1st with classic monsters themed posters for ‘Frankenweenie’

Arriving in UK cinemas just in time for both the October half term, and also in a fairly good position to make the most out of Halloween, is Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie. Today Disney have revealed six rather cool classic monster themed posters in celebration of it being October 1st, the month Frankenweenie arrives, and you can see all six posters at the bottom of this post.

Frankenweenie is based on Burton’s own 1984 short film of the same name, and as you can see from the trailer, bringing Sparky back to life has some dreadful and hilarious consequences.

The film will be released by Walt Disney Pictures on 17th October, and Burton has enlisted the voice talents of a number of actors who also worked with him on The Corpse Bride. Among the names attached here are Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Landau, Atticus Shaffer, Tom Kenny, Charlie Tahan and Conchata Ferrell.

Synopsis:

A heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

A stop-motion animated film, ‘Frankenweenie’ will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
