Disney have been rather busy today promoting their next big adventure, The Lone Ranger. First came the official poster which has a sort of Batman/The Crow thing going on, and then came the trailer. While the trailer is pretty impressive in terms of scale and a good old fashioned Western setting, I can’t help but feel like Johnny Depp didn’t really have a lot to do in it. Considering he is one of the main draws of the film, I thought he would have done and said more. However, it still looks pretty decent, and with director Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean 1-3) re-teaming once again with Depp and Disney, it is pretty obvious the this film is set to be huge when it arrives in the middle of summer next year.
Directed by Gore Verbinski, The Lone Ranger stars Johnny Depp as Tonto, and he will be joined by Helena Bonham Carter, Armie Hammer as The Lone Ranger, William Fichtner, Tom Wilkinson, James Badge Dale and Barry Pepper. Expect to see the film in UK cinemas 9th August 2013.
“The Lone Ranger” is a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
