Action packed and a whole lot of fun new trailer smashes on-line for ‘G.I.Joe: Retaliation’

If you remember back before the summer, director Jon M. Chu’s sequel, G.I.Joe: Retaliation was gearing up for a promising August cinema release here in the UK. The release was a good few months later than the planned release in the US, but it was really something to look forward to.

The original film was harmless fun, nothing special, but the sequel was beginning to look very promising indeed. Then, literally a few weeks ahead of its US debut, the film gets pulled and the release date pushed back by almost a year to 27th March 2013 here in the UK, and the 29th March for the US.

It was said it was probably due to the film being converted into 3D, but you could argue that The Dark Knight Rises scared it off. Or, it just might have needed a little extra work. Either way, the film now misses the summer blockbuster season and arrives a few weeks ahead of the Easter holidays here in the UK.

A new trailer has made its way on-line, and while most of it will look familiar, there is a little new footage to enjoy. Check it out below.

The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, RZA, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson. Directed by Jon M. Chu, and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner, from a screenplay by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe(R) characters, the film is scheduled to be released on 29th March 2013.

Synopsis:

In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
