The word “heaven” in the title is certainly a word i would probably use for Guillermo del Toro’s rumoured to be possible next film. The busiest man in movie making is currently wrapping up Pacific Rim for Warner Brothers, and supposedly the company are willing to do whatever it takes to keep del Toror (and why wouldn’t they).
According to sources at Latino Review (who are usually correct), del Toro has expressed an interest in directing a slightly different version of DC’s Justice League. While Warners are working on getting the Justice League movie into cinemas in time for early 2015, del Toro is hoping to make a movie version of the supernatural DC characters, an idea that will have fans drooling.
While this is strictly still a rumour, Warners lawyers have apparently been working overtime to secure the rights to characters such as Swamp Thing, Deadman, The Spectre, Phantom Stranger, Constantine Hellblazer, Zatanna, Zatara and Sargon, as well as Etrigan the Demon.
Now, should this actually be agreed, then this will be one huge project, and would no doubt take del Toro a very long time to make, so don’t go getting your hopes up just yet. Del Toro is a very busy man, and it was said last year that his next film after Pacific Rim as director would be an adaptation of Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson.
We will have to wait and see what comes of this, but all I know is that I would very much like to see it. So, fingers crossed!
