Mary is an artist in disturbing new ‘American Mary’ poster

How The Soska Sisters love their violence! I was sat not too far from them during the screening of Maniac at Frightfest in August, and they cheered and clapped everytime something horrible took place on screen. These girls truly adore their horror, and their enthusiasm in the genre was awesome to see.

Their new horror, American Mary, will arrive here in the UK next year, and all you horror fans should be very excited to see it. While we await an official trailer for the film (check out the teaser trailer here), we are happy to get whatever we can for now, and today we have a brand new poster to share with you.

The poster shows the films star Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps) as Mary, holding some of her tools, she looks delightfully sexy, but not someone you’d want to meet in a dark alley. Check out the new poster below.

American Mary is written and directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska. The cast includes Katharine Isabelle, Antonio Cupo, Tristan Risk, David Lovgren and Paula Linberg.

Synopsis:

After giving the world DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK, the irrepressible Soska sisters unleash AMERICAN MARY.

Starring Katharine Isabelle (GINGER SNAPS), this metaphor for the Soskas own journey through the independent film industry follows medical student Mary Mason as she becomes increasingly broke and disenchanted. The allure of easy money sends Mary into the twilight world of body modification and underground surgeries where obsessed flesh artists will pay anything and go through any pain to get their unusual procedures done. But Mary soon finds that her new ‘profession’ leaves more marks on her own psyche than on her freakish clientele.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
