New images and gloriously shocking red band trailer revealed for horror anthology ‘The ABC’s of Death’

It feels like a lifetime ago that the massive horror project, The ABC’s of Death was announced, and it feels like the first red-band compilation trailer was just a dream. We did see a couple of new images come out of the Toronto International Film Festival a few months ago, but news on the truly enormous anthology has been pretty quiet of late. Until now…

Earlier this week two new images were released for the film. You can see the first one above, and the poor Japanese school girl having her head explode is a rather cool image, don’t you think? The second, altogether more creepy image, is below and features a rather shocked young lad, blood all over his face holding a basketball (as you do!).

However, the best news came late yesterday as a brand new red-band trailer landed for the film which see’s 26 of the worlds best, and up and coming horror directors create a short film. Each film is based on a letter of the alphabet, so each director had one to focus on. The results are not too far off seeing, with the film  being released in the US on VOD 31st January 2013, and then having a limited theatrical run as of 8th March. There are no details yet for the UK, but for now enjoy the truly brilliant, red band and incredibly NSFW trailer below. It is awesome!

Synopsis:

Twenty-six directors. Twenty-six ways to die. The ABC’s OF DEATH is perhaps the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning fifteen countries and featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world’s leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children’s educational books, the motion picture is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free reign in choosing a word to create a story involving death.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
