‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’ image gallery, brand new poster and breathtaking new trailer all here for your viewing pleasure!

Disney are going all out to ensure no one forgets that their Sam Raimi directed film is on the way. Oz: The Great and Powerful has seen a number of goodies revealed this week, including ten new images from the film. The images can be seen in our image gallery below, some of which we published yesterday. Disney have also slowly been revealing the new poster for the film, and this has come our way bit by bit, with two stages of the poster revealed over the last week, and the final piece came today revealing one big poster which you can see above.

Below you can see the middle part of the poster revealed today, and I have added the first two pieces and added the single posters in order so you can see it as best as possible. The new middle part finally reveals the main cast, and you can also see the famous yellow brick road behind them.

As if all that wasn’t enough, a brand new trailer has also been released today, and it is quite brilliant. It goes much more into the story, and of why James Franco’s Oz is so important. The new trailer is playful, and full of wonderful imagery and excitement. James Franco appears to be loving every minute, with a constant cheeky grin on his face, and the rest of the cast all appear to be having a great time. I am expecting great things from this!

Sam Raimi directs from a screenplay written by Mitchell Kapner, and the story is based on the novel written by L. Frank Baum. The credited cast includes James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, Abigail Spencer, Joey King, Zach Braff and Martin Klebba.

Oz: The Great and Powerful arrives in UK cinemas 8th March 2013. For more on the film, click here

Synopsis:

Disney’s fantastical adventure “Oz The Great and Powerful,” directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

When small-time magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco) pulls one flimflam too many, he finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great and powerful Wizard — and just maybe into a better man as well.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
