After what feels like a lifetime of waiting, the full length trailer for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, Man of Steel, has now landed. Now, we did share this with you on our Facebook page earlier today, but come on it deserves its own article too!
The trailer is magnificent, epic and emotional and full of that “serious” stuff we have been promised for months. While there is not much of a look at the films villain (Zod, played by Michael Shannon), the trailer instead focuses on the issues with being such a powerful being living on Earth, and indicates that there will be a lot of that emotional, serious stuff we have now come to expect from superhero movies.
They don’t really get much bigger than Superman, and on the evidence of this trailer, Snyder, star Henry Cavill and producer Christopher Nolan have nailed it, don’t you think?
Directed by Zack Snyder, produced by Christopher Noaln and written by David S. Goyer and Jonathan Nolan, the film stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Jonathan and Martha Kent, Michael Shannon as General Zod and Russell Crowe as Jor-El. Also amongst the highly impressive cast are Laurence Fishburne, Christopher Meloni, Ayelet Zurer and Antje Traue.
Synopsis:
In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question ‘Why am I here?’ Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.
