First trailer for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo director’s ‘Dead Man Down’ packs quite a punch

The first trailer for director Niels Arden Oplev’s new thriller, Dead Man Down, has arrived on-line. Oplev is the genius director behind the superb The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and after working on TV series’ Unforgettable and Millennium, he returns to feature films with Dead Man Down, and it appears equally as impressive as The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

The director re-teams with his Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace in this revenge thriller that no one had really seen coming, and the first trailer has quite literally come out on nowhere. It looks mighty impressive, and while sadly this trailer is out of sync, we do get a good idea of how good this film looks.

The cast is impressive too, with Colin Farrell, Dominic Cooper and Terrence Howard joining Rapace.

Dead Man Down is directed by Niels Arden Oplev, and written by J.H. Wyman. The films cast includes Noomi Rapace, Colin Farrell, Dominic Cooper, Terrence Howard, Raw Leiba, Isabelle Huppert and Armand Asante.

Dead Man Down arrives in US cinemas 8th March, there are no UK dates confirmed.

Following the cinematic phenomenon “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” acclaimed filmmaker Niels Arden Oplev and brooding beauty Noomi Rapace reunite for another thrilling tale of vengeance. Colin Farrell joins the prestigious team as brave enforcer Victor, right hand man to an underground crime lord in New York City. He seeks to avenge the death of his wife and daughter caused by his boss. When his employer is threatened by a mysterious killer, Victor also becomes detective. Victor is seduced and blackmailed by Beatrice (Noomi Rapace), a victim turned avenger whose intense chemistry leads them spiraling into payback delivered in violent catharsis. From producer Neal Moritz (The Fast and the Furious franchise, I Am Legend) and Joel Wyman (Fringe, Keen Eddie) comes a triumphant action thriller, a powerful portrait of the relationship between two people caught in the crosshairs of revenge.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
