Michael Bay promised to change direction after spending five years with his Transformers, and from the looks of the new trailer for Pain and Gain, the director has headed back to the lesser scale shenanigans of Bad Boys.
Pain and Gain is unmistakably Bay: it has action, comedy, slightly cheesy characters, sexy women, police looking stupid and the red, white and blue running through the veins of every character. Bay is as American as they come, and his films always go for as much Americano as he can squeeze in, and Pain and Gain is no different. Its big, its silly and it looks a whole lot of fun if you enjoy Bay’s films.
Mark Wahlberg, as always, looks brilliant in his role, and Dwayne Johnson appears to be playing a muscle bound pacifist type of person, so that should prove interesting!
Michael Bay directts from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Rebel Wilson, Bar Paly, Anthony Mackie, Ed Harris, Ken Jeong, Rob Corddry, Kurt Angle and Dian Laura.
Pain and Gain arrives in UK cinemas 3rd May 2013.
