You see that image above, tell me, what is that? Orlando Bloom acting as Legolas in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, or Orlando Bloom pretending to hear fans calling him back to Middle Earth? I believe it is Orlando Bloom listening to his fans, for he has returned to Middle Earth, and the proof is in the picture below.
It would seem that director Peter Jackson is happy to skip over the middle film in his Hobbit trilogy, The Desolation of Smaug, and has instead opted to release an image, via Entertainment Weekly, of the third and final film in his Hobbit trilogy, The Hobbit: There and Back Again.
Personally, I am not really a fan of Orlando Bloom, and I would much rather see an image or design of Smaug the Dragon, but hey ho, we can look at Legolas instead! The image also begs the question, just what the hell is Legolas doing in the third film in Jackson’s trilogy? He doesn’t appear in The Hobbit book, so why include him? Jackson had the answer:
“He’s elven king Thranduil’s son, and Thranduil is one of the characters in The Hobbit, and because elves are immortal it makes sense Legolas would be part of the sequence in the Woodland Realm,”
The Hobbit: There and Back Again arrives in UK cinemas 18th July 2014.
Thanks for that, here’s the image…
