Rumour: And its a big one! The villain for Warner Brothers and DC comics ‘Justice League’ has been named?

Warner Brothers and DC comics own Avengers type superhero movie is yet to find a director or any stars, but that hasn’t stopped a number of rumours popping up over the past few weeks. The Justice League movie will bring together the likes of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, The Flash and others to fight against a dangerous villain, and according to Latino Review, that villain has apparently been named.

Now before we get to that, let’s just remember that in the past week there has been rumours of Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Batman in Justice League, a rumour that was quickly denied by his agents, and also Man of Steel director Zack Snyder has hinted at his movie now leading on to Justice League in a Marvel sort of way. There have been talks of a post-credits scene in Man of Steel which will lead on to Justice League because the Superman reboot is the only DC film coming out before Justice League’s planned release in 2015. However, all of this so-far is just hear-say, and with two years until the movie comes out, expect the rumours to continue.

However, Latino Review is well respected when it comes to getting inside news before anyone else, and more often than not, they are right. The following rumour was revealed yesterday, and no one has yet denied it. So here goes…

The big villain (and I mean BIG) of The Justice League movie is said to be Darkseid, a nine foot tall demi-God with enough powers to warrant having all the Justice League together to fight him off. Darkseid is the ruler of the planet Apokolips, and should he come to Earth then we are in serious trouble.

The villain first appeared in 1970, and has been a prominent enemy to Superman and The Justice League for forty years. The villain has also appeared outside the comics in Smallville, 1984’s Super Friends, the 90’s Superman: The Animated Series and 2000’s animated Justice League.

He is one of the DC comics most powerful villains, and has the power to manipulate peoples minds. Preferring to work from the shadows, this could prove an extremely interesting villain who could be in the Justice League film as a force working in the background, manipulating people to work against the Justice League. This would be very exciting indeed, however it could go the other way and Darkseid could just go full on and use his incredible strength, invulnerability, endurance, immortality, a genius intellect and telekinetic powers to destroy his enemies. The super villain also has the power of the Omega force, a weapon which allows him to shoot laser beams from his eyes, but these laser beams can bend around structures making them impossible to escape. Also included in his use array of weaponry is the power of the Omega Sanction, a banishment weapon where he can send his enemies to hellish alternative realities.

Man, that is one serious villain, and should this rumour turn out to be true, then Justice League is beginning to sound pretty bloody amazing! The only thing we know for sure right now is that Will Beall (Gangster Squad, Lethal Weapon 5) is writing the screenplay. However, no doubt there will be a LOT more to come!

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
