The only way to survive a giant monster attack is with a ‘Pacific Rim’ survival kit!!

We have already seen an alarm test for if a giant Kaiju attacks, and with these monsters being some 300 feet tall, we would hope that alarm works! We have also seen some blueprints for how to build your own Jaeger robot, a machine as tall as a skyscraper which five skilled pilots will use to fight off the massive monsters. However, it would seem that the threat is indeed real, and Earth, and more specifically the Pacific, is under attack.

A letter dated 21st May 2015 has been sent to HCF to warn us that the threat of a Kaiju attack is real, and we must not only prepare, but the UK must send their most skilled pilots to help with the ever increasingly dangerous war. We have already seen a video of a 300 foot tall monster attacking San Francisco and The Golden Gate Bridge, and so it would appear that we must now begin to prepare for the worst. Giant monsters are coming, they will be attacking the Pacific Rim, and we are all going to suffer the consequences!

Not me though, for with my letter I also received my very own personal survival kit supplied by, and while the world suffers at the hands (or claws) or these beasts, I can start to lead mankind to survival with my special kit. I have included a few pictures below so you can see exactly what I have been supplied with, and it gives an indication to just how serious this threat is!

In case I get lost I have my very own compass, and in case I need to make a fire I get flint and a striker, plus some matches and a candle should it get dark and scary. I have a cotton wool ball, presumably for stopping blood dripping from any of my war wounds, and I get a whole bunch of plasters for those not so serious cuts. I have razor blades in case it all gets too much and I decide to slit my wrists, and maskintape in case I decide killing myself is a bad idea and want to attempt to stop the bleeding. I also have some fishing hooks in case I get hungry, and water purifying tablets for when i get thirsty (the water is expected to be rather nasty since no one will be cleaning it!).

I also have a handy spring snare if I fancy eating some kind of rodent, and a small pocket knife in case I feel the need to take on something bigger. Also, if my battle with a larger animal for food results in me losing a few buttons on my shirt, I even have a needle and thread and spare buttons! I have everything! Hell, the survival kit even teaches me morse code, something I haven’t ever learned in over thirty years, and should my memory of morse code fail, I have a pencil, I can write a note instead!! Also included is a mirror just in case I find someone worthy of taking out for a slap up meal of shrubs, twigs and dead animal, and finally a whistle which I could use for attracting sexual partners (I will be lonely all by myself!)

See, when the world ends, and what happens on Pacific Rim happens everywhere, you will all wish you had a survival kit like mine! I will be one of the few to keep the human race alive with my newly learned skills for survival. I will live on, but will you? Best you keep up to date with the Pacific Rim viral campaign to see just how big the level of threat is becoming, and start to prepare for the worst!

Pacific Rim is expected to arrive in UK cinemas 12th July 2013.

Here is the official synopsis:

From acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ epic sci-fi action adventure “Pacific Rim.”

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end.  To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge.  But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju.  On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past.  Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Oscar® nominee Guillermo del Toro (“Pan’s Labyrinth”) is directing “Pacific Rim” from a script by Travis Beacham (“Clash of the Titans”).  Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Mary Parent are producing, with Callum Greene serving as executive producer.

The film stars Charlie Hunnam (TV’s “Sons of Anarchy”), Idris Elba (“Thor”), Rinko Kikuchi (“The Brothers Bloom”), Charlie Day (“Horrible Bosses”), and Ron Perlman (the “Hellboy” films).  The ensemble cast also includes Max Martini, Robert Kazinsky, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Diego Klattenhoff, and Brad William Henke.

Del Toro’s behind-the-scenes team includes Academy Award®-winning director of photography Guillermo Navarro, production designer Andrew Neskoromny, editor Peter Amundson, and costume designer Kate Hawley.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
