A new poster has landed for director Eran Creevy’s (Shifty) stunning looking British thriller, Welcome to the Punch. The poster also gives me the chance to rectify my mistake of not covering this film sooner. Don’t ask for an excuse, there are not excuses, I just happened to miss it.
Today I intend to put things right, and not only do we have the new poster to share with you, but also the truly incredible trailer which arrived on-line a few weeks ago. The trailer is stunning, and the film itself reminds me of a mix between Michael Mann’s classic Heat and Collateral, and that my friends is a very good thing indeed. The look and feel of the trailer is very gritty, with lots of nighttime shots showing off the directors skill at creating an impressive level of tension. The cast is terrific too, and people are already hailing this as the best British thriller of 2013.
Directed by Eran Creevy, Welcome to the Punch arrives in UK cinemas on March 15th. The impressive cast includes James McAvoy, Mark Strong, David Morrissey, Peter Mullan, Andrea Riseborough, Daniel Mays, Johnny Harris, Steve Oram, Jason Maza, Elyes Gabel and Daniel Kaluuya.
Ex-criminal Jacob Sternwood (Mark Strong) is forced to return to London when his son is involved in a heist gone wrong. This gives his nemesis, detective Max Lewinsky (James McAvoy), one last chance to catch the man he’s always been after.
