Impressive red band trailer lands for ‘Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D’

While it is obvious that not many red band trailers will leave up to the almighty gorefest of last nights Evil Dead trailer, a brand new red band trailer for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters has taken a slightly different approach. When I say slightly, I mean it, as there is still a small amount of gore on offer here (the final Witch trap in the trees in very cool), but instead this red band trailer is pushing the bad language, but more importantly, the sexiness.

The witch’s on offer here all look very sexy indeed, and with actresses like Famke Janssen, Zoe Bell and Ingrid Bolso Berdal playing them ,i have no issue with the old blood suckers seducing us on screen. In fact, I welcome it, and this new red band trailer suggests that this film will contain plenty of nudity, and that littered with the small amount of very cool violence, can only be a good thing.

Collider got the exclusive on the new red band trailer, which you can view below.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is directed by Tommy Wirkola, and written by Wirkola and Dante Harper. Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton lead the cast, which also includes Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare, Zoe Bell, Thomas Mann,Ingrid Bolso Berdal and Derek Mears.

The film arrives in UK cinemas on 15th March 2013.

Catching up with Hansel (Renner) and Gretel (Arterton) 15 years after the traumatic incident involving a gingerbread house, the siblings have evolved into vengeful bounty hunters dedicated to exterminating witches. Over the years, the siblings became expert hunters, famous for their proficiency at tracking and taking down their prey. Although still recovering from their ordeal, their work is relatively easy as for an unknown reason harmful spells and curses do not work well against them.

The Mayor of Augsburg recruits them to rid the town and nearby forests of an evil sorceress (Janssen) who is planning to sacrifice many local children at the witches’ gathering during the upcoming ‘Blood Moon’ night in two days time. To make things worse, the duo also has to deal with the brutal Sheriff Berringer (Stormare) who has taken power in Augsburg and conducts a very indiscriminate witch-hunt of his own.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
