A new black and white image (above) from Man of Steel has gone on-line Via desdehollywood.com. It features star Amy Adams, in striking black and white, as Lois Lane, and Adams looks perfect for the part.
The role of Lois Lane should prove very interesting in Zack Snyder’s “more realistic” Superman film. What with writer David S. Goyer speaking just last week of the films intentions to appear as if in the normal world, and Snyder’s constant reminders of realism, Adams could end up with the most challenging Lois Lane role yet.
The fact the makers cast such a brilliant, Oscar winning actress in a role usually only requiring just a bit of sadness and confusion as to who Superman really is leads me to believe Adams will have a lot more to do here. She is too good an actress to not have something big to do in this film, so I am very much looking forward to seeing what Snyder and Goyer have planned for her.
Directed by Zack Snyder, produced by Christopher Noaln and written by David S. Goyer and Jonathan Nolan, the film stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Jonathan and Martha Kent, Michael Shannon as General Zod and Russell Crowe as Jor-El. Also amongst the highly impressive cast are Laurence Fishburne, Christopher Meloni, Ayelet Zurer and Antje Traue.
In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question ‘Why am I here?’ Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.
