TV: Taissa Farmiga returning for ‘American Horror Story Season 3’

American Horror Story S3

Ryan Murphy shared a few details about American Horror Story Season 3 while at the press screening of the finale of American Horror Story: Asylum. Check out more of those details here.

As we found out last week, Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will be returning for the third season, but now show creator Ryan Murphy has told EW that another name will be joining the cast, Taissa Farmiga.

Murphy stated at the press screening during a Q&A that we wanted actors from Season 1 to return for Season 3, many of which did not appear in Asylum. The first name to be announced is Farmiga, Murphy explained:

“I missed her this season. There wasn’t really a role for her. I feel very protective of her and I didn’t want her to go back into the loony bin—it was too dark. So I thought well ‘I want Taissa to be one of the leads next year.’ I called her up and pitched her the character for the season and she loved it and she said, ‘Yes let’s do it.’ So we’re in negotiations for her to headline season 3″

Ryan said last week of Season 3:

“You’re going to see a very different tone in season three, but that’s the joy of the show,” he added. “I think as a person right now I do feel lighter and wanting to embrace something a little bit more fun.”

“What season three is about is more historical in nature… I’m also interested in getting into a horror romance. That’s certainly something that’s going to be in the water for season three.”

Season 3 will be contained yet again in thirteen episodes, and again will jump through time periods.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
