The new issue of Total Film is now on sale, and inside you will find a rather impressive inside look at Guillermo del Toro’s giant monsters vs giant robots epic, Pacific Rim. The magazine got an exclusive look at some astonishing concept art for the film, and two of those images have made their way on-line.

The first image (above and below) shows off the massive size of the Jaegers, the robots manned by skilled drivers, and the image features a Russian Jaeger standing guard. The second image shows a rather unsettling Skull Temple that has blended in with its surroundings. Both images are further proof to the awesomeness of Pacific Rim! Check out the artwork below.

Directed by Guillermo del Toro and written by Travis Beacham, Pacific Rim stars Idris Elba (Prometheus), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Charlie Hunnam (Horrible Bosses), Charlie Day, Clifton Collins Jr, Rinko Kikuchi  and Robert Maillet.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes – a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) – who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Release Date 12th July 2013

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
