Entertainment Weekly have the exclusive on a brand new clip from Rob Zombie’s Lords of Salem, and it is a huge improvement on the last “pot of tea” clip. In fact, the clip is quite brilliant.

It features Zombie’s wife Sheri Moon playing the lead role of  Heidi, and in the clip she begins talking about the ‘cursed’ record, and eventually begins coughing up blood. What follows is pure horror in a way only Zombie knows how, and it is a terrific clip to give us a good idea of exactly what Zombie has in store for us.

Zombie also spoke with EW about his film, describing it as follows:

“My premise is that there was another group of women put to death [during the witch trials] who actually were witches,” explains Zombie. “They vowed to come back and wreak vengeance upon Salem and they do it through this bizarre piece of music. Heidi has some lineage to the witch trials — but she’s also a recovering drug addict. So, in the course of the film, you’re not sure if she’s back on drugs, if she’s losing her mind, or if these events are actually happening to her.”

Synopsis:

Heidi, a blonde rock chick, DJs at a local radio station and, together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster), forms part of the “Big H Radio Team”.

A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, “a gift from the Lords”. She assumes it’s a rock band on a mission to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lords’ record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma.

Later Whitey plays the Lords’ record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with listeners.

The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H Team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon Heidi and her cohorts find that the gig is far from the rock spectacle they’re expecting: The original Lords of Salem are returning, and they’re out for BLOOD.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
