There is yet another new horror anthology on the way this year! Not content with S-VHS, The ABC’s of Death and The Profane Exhibit, along come yet another rather excellent looking journey into the darkest areas of the mind.

Focusing on insanity, and featuring the wonderful Malcolm McDowell, comes Sanitarium, and IndieWire had the exclusive on the rather excellent red band trailer.

The anthology features three segments, directed by Bryan Ortiz, Bryan Ramirez and Kerry Valderrama. All three are relatively new to directing, but on the evidence of the following trailer, they certainly have plenty of skills to show off. The cast is very impressive to, with Malcolm McDowell, Lou Diamond Phillips, Robert Englund, Lacey Chabert, John Glover and David Mazouz.

Sanitarium will have its world premiere at the Miami International Film Festival on 1st March.

Synopsis:

Sanitarium consists of three tales based on particular patients of a mental institution. Each tale begins with Dr. Stenson, the primary physician at the Sanitarium, commenting on the recent arrival of a new patient. As Dr. Stenson speaks, the individual’s story begins. With elements from Creepshow, “The Twilight Zone,” “Alfred Hitchcock Presents,” and “Tales from the Crypt,” Sanitarium explores the different narratives of the insane patients – tales which led to their crazed states of minds.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
