Michael Mann to direct untitled “cyber attack” thriller starring Chris Hemsworth

It’s been four years since Michael Mann’s last film, the terrific gangster film, Public Enemies, and I am very excited to see the director of classics such as Heat, Collateral, Manhunter and Last of the Mohicans finally return.

While no plot details have yet been released, and not even a title has been mentioned, Mann’s new film is set to star Chris Hemsworth. Mann has reportedly been working on the script with co-writer Morgan Davis Foehl (Mass Effect) for over a year now, and the only plot details revealed thus far is that the story apparently takes place in the world of cyber threats and attacks.

Hemsworth has a big hole in his schedule right now after Steven Spielberg halted production on his epic sci-fi, Robopocalypse, and with the Snow White and the Huntsman sequel still not getting going, Hemsworth was a free man. He has just wrapped filming on Thor: The Dark World, and rather than take a break it looks like he will be getting right back to work very soon.

The untitled Michael Mann film is expected to go into production in June, with Legendary Pictures producing.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
