A trailer has made its way on-line for a new sci-fi horror flick from the director of Battlefield Earth, Roger Christian. The fact Christian made such a terrible film way back in 2000 will probably hang over this film until its released, so it is up to you if you are willing to forgive Battlefield Earth and give the director another chance.
Already the film ticks a few boxes for me. Firstly I love sci-fi horrors, especially one’s with plenty of gore and alien action, and the trailer for Stranded suggests plenty of good stuff. Secondly, the film stars Christian Slater, and in my mind, he can make even the crappest films enjoyable with his unique personality.
Directed by Roger Christian and written by Christian Piers Betley, Stranded stars Christian Slater, Brendan Fehr, Amy Matysio and Michael Therriault.
Gerard (Christian Slater) leads three other astronauts on a mission when a meteor suddenly collides with their space station, putting the lives of the entire crew in danger. Those on board quickly learn that spores from the meteorite can replicate cell structure, reproduce, and mutate. Ava, the only female astronaut becomes infected, showing signs of pregnancy at a rapid rate. Within 36 hours she gives birth to a creature that mutates into the life form of another crew member.
