Superbowl TV spot lands on-line for zombie epic ‘World War Z’

Superbowl fever will hit the US this weekend, and many of this years big release are revealing Superbowl TV spots ahead of Sunday. We have already seen a teaser for Iron Man 3’s Superbowl TV spot, and now sticking with the genre of this site, we are happy to share with you the TV spot for Wold War Z.

All the major film company’s want to get in on this perfectly timed chance for advertising their films, and Paramount will be advertising World War Z with the short teaser you can view below. It is a bit of a disappointment to be honest: there is not new footage, and all we really get is a much shorter version of the full length trailer. But hey, there hasn’t been any news on Marc Forster’s zombie epic for a while now, so at least its something.

Check out all the events so far here

The film is based on the novel written by Max Brooks, and the screenplay was written by Matthew Michael Carnahan and J. Michael Stracynski and the film stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, Elyes Gabel and Julia Levy-Boeken. Brad Pitt’s own production company Plan B are involved in this epic tale of the greatest Zombie war the world has ever known. Filming in locations all over the world, the film will take place ten years after the war and survivors are asked to re-live their accounts of what happened to them.

World War Z, directed by Marc Forster, is due to arrive in UK cinemas June 21st 2013.

The story is said to revolve around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen. The plot is a bit interesting because the Max Brooks best-selling novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War which the movie is based on, dealt with the aftermath of the zombie apocalypse. Hopefully this approach will work for the film.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
