Sadly there is no official release date for Bong Joon-ho’s (The Host) apocalyptic sci-fi, Snowpiercer, but dammit I am excited to see it. There are rumours that the film will debut at the Cannes Film Festival in a few months, so for now I am going to share as much as I can with you, and today we have a rather gloomy first poster to show you.
The old man in the picture looks like it could be star John Hurt, and it would appear that the large group of people are trying to find somewhere safe to live after Global Warming has caused the next Ice Age.
Snowpiercer is written and directed by Bong Joon-ho, and is based on the graphic novel written by Benjamin Legrand. The cast includes Song Kang-ho, Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Alison Pill, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris, Ewen Bremner, Octavia Spencer and Luke Pasqualino.
Synopsis:
Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.
