There was talk last week that actress Halle Berry was 90% done on closing a deal to join the cast of Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Today, Deadline reports that the deal is done, and Berry will indeed reprise her role of the weather manipulating Storm in Singer’s massive new film.
Singer himself confirmed the news through his Twitter account today:
“Couldn’t be more excited that #HalleBerry has joined the cast of #XMen#DaysofFuturePast. Hopefully she can improve the weather in Montreal.”
X-Men: Days of Future Past is expected to arrive in cinemas 18th July 2014.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is being written by Jane Goldman, Simon Kinberg and Matthew Vaughn and will see the newly formed titular team working to prevent an alternate future where mutants are hunted by giant machines called The Sentinels.
It follows the 1980s’ comic storyline written by Chris Claremont that alternates between a present day battle against the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline where an assassination of a government official has led to Sentinels roaming the land and mutants held prisoner in internment camps.
So far the cast for X-Men: Days of Future Past, is looking something like this: Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry and Shawn Ashmore.
