Today see’s the release of an epic and mind blowing new trailer for JJ Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness, and if for whatever reason you were still not convinced this film will be good, then this new trailer will crush those doubts and bury them!
This trailer is quite something, and even though I thought it was almost impossible to top the previous full length trailer Abrams and Paramount have somehow done it. The new trailer is stunning, powerful and really menacing, with Bendedict Cumberbatch’s villain John Harrison (??) really sending shivers down your spine. He is a cold, calculated and powerful villain who consumes the trailer with his chilling warnings and creepy tone. I certainly would not want to be his enemy!
Also in the trailer is tons of new footage, including some astonishing action sequences (we properly see The Enterprise crash land this time), the odd bit of banter, Kirk looking worried yet determined, and we are even given a glimpse of Alice Eve’s Dr Carol Marcus in her undies! Incidentally, the shot of Eve half naked was spotted by TrekMovie who noticed (while pausing the sexy shot) that there was a hidden URL in the background, and the URL lead to the films new poster which you can see below!
Most of all though, this trailer is about seriousness: serious threat, serious actors, serious menace, serious action and some seriously bloody epicness that will have fans, quite literally, drooling and frothing at the mouth knowing that we still have to wait some six weeks to see the darned thing!
