It has been a long time coming, but the first teaser trailer for Hatchet 3 finally arrived last night along with a brand new official synopsis, plus a US release date!

The third film in the series created by Adam Green see’s a new director take control of the bloodshed, BJ McDonnell (cameraman on the first two Adam Green directed films) is the new director looking for fresh and inventive ways to kill people. Green is still involved as a writer and producer, and we also see both Kane Hodder return as the vicious Victor Crowley, and the sexy Danielle Harris is also back as Marybeth.

The new teaser trailer is short but incredibly effective as we only get a brief glimpse of Crowley, and we also see a group of police moving in on Crowley’s swamp home. Now, while I loved the first Hatchet film, the second was not up to scratch so I am hoping the third film can rejuvenate the franchises brilliance, and long may Victor Crowley continue to kill people in new and brilliant ways.

Hatchet 3 has been given a US theatrical release date of June 14th, although it is limited. The film is set to open in New York City’s Cinema Village and in Los Angeles at Laemmle Music Hall. Opening week will feature special appearances by cast and crew, followed by Q&A’s at each location. Additional cities will be announced at a later date.

Directed by BJ McDonnell and written and produced by Adam Green, Hatchet 3 stars Danielle Harris, Kane Hodder, Derek Mears, Cody Blue Snider, Zach Galligan, Rileah Vanderbilt, Caroline Williams, Diane Goldner, Jason Trost, and Sean Whalen.

Synopsis:

The film continues the tale of the now-iconic villain Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). As a search and recovery team heads into the haunted swamp to pick up the pieces and carnage left behind from the first two films, Marybeth (Danielle Harris) hunts down the true secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left the ghost of Victor Crowley haunting and terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
