Adam Wingard’s (VHS, VHS2, A Horrible Way To Die) new home invasion horror, You’re Next, is said to be one of THE horror events of the year. Last week saw the release of three incredibly creepy posters for each member of  an evil gang who terrorize a remote house, and while those posters were freaking awesome, a trailer was needed to really show us something special. The trailer has now landed…

Lionsgate have done a truly astonishing job putting together a shocking, frightening and quite brilliant trailer for Wingard’s highly praised horror, and if you needed any convincing that You’re Next is one of this years must-see horrors, then check out the stunning trailer below.

Using Lou Reed’s Perfect Day to startling effect, the trailer nicely builds menace and terror before exploding into an onslaught of violence and frantic running around. Thankfully the trailer manages to remain quite spoiler free too, but totally sells this soon to be top horror film of 2013. Wingard has already proven himself with the stunning A Horrible Way to Die, and his VHS wrap-a-around segment was superb. We have a new leader in modern horror with Wingard, so embrace it now, watch the trailer, pause for thought, then watch it again!

Best you get involved and ‘Like’ the You’re Next Facebook page, and keep it here for more updates.

You’re Next is directed by Adam Wingard and written by Simon Barrett. The cast includes Ti West, Sharni Vinson, Amy Seimetz, Barbara Crampton, Joe Swanberg, Rob Moran, Kate Lyn Sheil, Wendy Glenn, AJ Bowen and Nicholas Tucci.

One of the smartest and most terrifying films in years, the film reinvents the genre by putting a fresh twist on home-invasion horror. When a gang of masked, ax-wielding murderers descend upon the Davison family reunion, the hapless victims seem trapped…until an unlikely guest of the family proves to be the most talented killer of all.

About Matt Wavish 10001 Articles
A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.

  1. Looks great!

Reminiscent of The Strangers…but seemingly with a bit more grit and action. Though The Strangers did a very good job with character and mood imo

Thanks for the heads up, looking forward to it!
