Two more images have gone on-line over the past few days for Guillermo del Toro’s epic sci-fi extravaganza, Pacific Rim. Already we have seen an image of a glove covered in Kaiju blood, and a giant footprint on a beach, but now the scale of the problem of the giant monsters is once again on show with two new images.

The first image is of some humans kitted out on safety gear cleaning up after a Kaiju attack, there is clearly a rather large footprint in the sand, and Kaiju blood (blue coloured) can be seen everywhere, yuck! The second image gives us our first proper glimpse at the enormous Kaiju, and comes with a caption which reads:  “We will rebuild the city around its bones,” Look carefully at the picture and you will see a massive monster lying dead, taking up half of the city!

Directed by Guillermo del Toro and written by Travis Beacham, Pacific Rim stars Idris Elba (Prometheus), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Charlie Hunnam (Horrible Bosses), Charlie Day, Clifton Collins Jr, Rinko Kikuchi  and Robert Maillet.

SYNOPSIS:

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes – a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) – who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Release Date 12th July 2013

About Matt Wavish 10015 Articles
A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
