So, is Seth Grahame-Smith’s ‘Bettlejuice’ sequel script finished?

The image below was posted by writer Seth Grahame-Smith yesterday by way of his Twitter account, and came with the words “It’s showtime…” What exactly is means is anybody’s guess…

Grahame-Smith, who wrote Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Dark Shadows and the still to be made Pride & Prejudice and Zombies, has been hired by Warner Brothers to write the script for their upcoming sequel, Beetlejuice 2, and the below image see’s a man in a Beetlejuice costume stood over a computer.

Now, you can take this as the script is either finished, or about to begin, or half way through, who knows what. It is likely that Grahame-Smith might clear things up with a further announcement this week, but we will have to wait and see.

When the idea was first brought to the table last year, Grahame-Smith had said of Micheal Keaton and Tim Burton returning: “They both said the same thing – ‘If you come up with a story that is worthy of us actually doing this for real, something that is not just about cashing in, is not just about forcing a remake or reboot down someone’s throat then we’ll think about. When Warners started talking about it, I said, ‘There are two things, one it cannot be a remake or a reboot. It has to be a straight pure sequel’. The second thing I said was, No Michael Keaton, no dice’.”

So,if indeed this is the script finished, and Grahame-Smith intends to show it to Burton and Keaton, then maybe, just maybe a director and star might be announced soon?

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
