X-Men: Days of Future Past star James McAvoy may have accidentally dropped a huge bombshell about a returning cast member. During an interview with Heat Radio (listen to it below), the actor was firstly asked about his new film Welcome to the Punch, and many other things from road rage to “farting” in front of Angelina Jolie. However, things get juicy around the four minutes and fifty second mark, as McAvoy lists the names of actors returning for the massive project that is X-Men: Days of Future Past.

“You got me, [Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender,] Nicholas Hoult will be back, and he’s just blossoming massively over [in America],” he said.

“Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Alan Cumming, Peter Dinklage I hear mentioned – I don’t know if that’s happening – ‘Huge’ Jackman is coming by, he’s massive, 7’5? and muscly.”

We already knew about all those names returning apart from one, Alan Cumming. It has not yet been announced that he is returning, and from the tone in McAvoy’s voice, he doesn’t seem to know that either. While no official confirmation has been announced, McAvoy has pretty much done it for us?

Alan Cumming played the teleporter Nightcrawler in X2, a character who became a real fan favourite due to his look, charisma and Alan Cummings often bizarre performance. With so many character coming back for the new film, it would be a shame not to see Nightcrawler back, even if its a small role.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is expected to arrive in cinemas 18th July 2014.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is being written by Jane Goldman, Simon Kinberg and Matthew Vaughn and will see the newly formed titular team working to prevent an alternate future where mutants are hunted by giant machines called The Sentinels.

It follows the 1980s’ comic storyline written by Chris Claremont that alternates between a present day battle against the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline where an assassination of a government official has led to Sentinels roaming the land and mutants held prisoner in internment camps.

So far the cast for X-Men: Days of Future Past, is looking something like this: Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry, Shawn Ashmore and possibly Alan Cumming.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
