Some quick casting news here for two very exciting films. Firstly Jim Sturgess has signed on to play a role in Brad Anderson’s new thriller, Eliza Graves. The films plot is based on Edgar Allan Poe’s 1945 short story ”The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether”.
Kate Beckinsale has already been cast in the film, and Jim Sturgess “will star as a Harvard Medical School grad who takes a job a mental institution which the inmates have taken over and are posing as doctors. He becomes obsessed with the title character (Beckinsale), one of the patients.”
Paranormal Activity’s Oren Peli was attached to direct, however he pulled out and Session 9, The Machinist and The Call director Brad Anderson took over directing duties back in November.
Production on the film is expected to begin on June 21st in Bulgaria. Producing are Bruce Davey, Mel Gibson, Mark Amin, Cami Winikoff and Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli. David Higgins, Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman are executive producing.

In other casting news, and as expected, Matthew McConaughey has officially joined Christopher Nolan’s latest classic, Interstellar. McConaughey confirmed the news by simply saying “I’m confirming,”
“INTERSTELLAR” will be released beginning November 7, 2014, in theaters and IMAX®.
Directed and written by Academy Award-nominee Nolan (“INCEPTION,” “THE DARK KNIGHT RISES”), “INTERSTELLAR” is based on a script by Jonathan Nolan. The film will be produced by Emma Thomas and Christopher Nolan of Syncopy Films and Obst of Lynda Obst Productions. Kip Thorne will executive produce. The film will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.
