Earlier this week we revealed a number of images from director Noam Murro’s sequel, 300: Rise of an Empire. Today EW has revealed another brand new image, this time featuring Eva Green as the villain Artemisia.
Artemisia is “the vengeful commander of the Persian navy, who is second in command to the mortal-turned-god leader Xerxes (Santoro) and has the added incentive of seeking to settle a blood score against the Greeks who killed her family when she was a child.” said Murro.
Sullivan Stapleton, who stars in the films as Themistocles, said of Green’s role “She does most of Xerxes’ dirty work in this film. She’s seeking revenge, and she does it well, She’s a force to be reckoned with.”
Murro agreed: “She’s got sex appeal, she’s ruthless and conniving. All the things that kill men. And she has a sword. I wouldn’t mess with her.”
300: Rise of an Empire is directed by Noam Murro, and written by Kurt Johnstad and Frank Miller. The cast includes Eva Green, Lena Headey, Sullivan Stapleton, Andrei Claude, Mark Killeen, Rodrigo Santoro and Jack O’Connell.
The film arrives in UK cinemas on 2nd August.
