Sam Rockwell can easily heighten the quality of any film, but when you add into that mix William H. Macy, Ted Levine, Jason Isaacs, Kelly Reilly and Jeffrey Wright, you have yourself a mega cast. Thankfully director David M. Rosenthal (Janie Jones) has used his cast to great effect with a chilling and haunting looking game of cat and mouse in A Single Shot.

Due to play at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, the first trailer for the film has landed on-line, and it is incredibly atmospheric. The  cat and mouse tale of revenge between a hunter and some backwoods criminals is made all the more effective by this chilling and unnerving trailer that relies on its music and atmosphere to win you over. Check out the impressive trailer below.

A Single Shot is directed by David M. Rosenthal and is based on the novel by Matthew F. Jones (who also wrote the screenplay). The cast is lead by Sam Rockwell, and includes William H. Macy, Ted Levine, Jason Isaacs, Kelly Reilly, Jeffrey Wright, Joe Anderson, Ophelia Lovebond and Melissa Leo.

Synopsis:

A SINGLE SHOT revolves around a simple man, John Moon, a tragic accident, his despair and the need for immediate redemption. Moon, while stalking a deer out of season, accidentally shoots and kills a teenage girl. When trying to dispose of her body in a cave, he stumbles upon a hefty sum of money. This starts a tense and thrilling adventure and a deadly game of cat and mouse between hunter John Moon and the hardened backwater criminals out for his blood. John Moon will need to outsmart those hunting him down to save himself and his family.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
